Ok, now Im going to need some strong black coffee for this convo.
I have been married for 4 years, let me first say marriage is a beautiful thing. BUT, it takes work. Many say marriage takes two but I feel it takes three. Yes, three now don't let your mind wander…Im not that crazy. Let me explain. God is the third element. My husband and I are both believers but fell onto a rough patch about a year ago. Let me say that a woman must find herself in Christ and Men must be led by Christ. If you don't guard your marriage the enemy will try to destroy it. Lets visit that for a moment. A marriage is to be an example of how great God is. It is to be loving, caring, supportive, and reflect the Fruits of the Spirit. Now why would the enemy want this perfect display of God’s affection? He doesn’t.
Ok, now in the blog post titled Proverbs 31 I mentioned that my Spiritual Mother told me I would one day need a favorite scripture. Well, during the rough patch I shared our struggles with her. She said go and reflect on Proverbs 31… Now let me tell you that months had gone by since I told her that I had found my scripture. I was amazed that she not only remembered the convo but she actually called out Proverbs 31! She told me to go buy the book The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian. I did just that. But once I opened the first page I knew this all had been orchestrated by GOD. The first page read.
Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.
Proverbs 31 : 10-12
The book is comprised of short prayers that a wife can read daily to help cover her husband with the armor of God. There is also books in the series for Husbands, Women, and Parents. Check it out.
By the way, I was amazed by the struggles men face daily.
Sometimes God will use life lessons to prepare you for your destiny. Today, we are living a marriage on a stool with THREE legs & it is so AMAZING!
